1. Toasted Pumpkin Candles: when Brooklyn Candle Studio sent a newsletter anouncing their new candle scent, Toasted Pumpkin, I immediately ordered two. I absolutely love their soy wax candles and have ordered from their store multiple times. These candle smell amazing and I want my apartment to smell like this all autumn long!
I was psyched to finally receive my second FabFitFun box! I was going to film an unboxing video of my lifestyle subscription box but I’ve been very low energy and honestly just didn’t feel like it. Maybe next time.

1. Castle Rock: this past week John and I binged the first season of Hulu’s new show set in the Stephen King universe. The show does have its flaws but it entertained me regardless. It also occasionally creeped me out, which is rare these days. The cast is rock solid: André Holland, Bill SkarsgÃ¥rd, Melanie Lynskey, Sissy Spacek, Terry O’Quinn, and Scott Glenn, to name a few. There are also Cusack and Culkin sightings. If you’re a Stephen King fan, I definitely recommend watching Castle Rock!
1. Hamilton: last Friday I FINALLY got to see this musical after years of wanting to go! The show came to the Kennedy Center this summer and my friend managed to snag tickets through the online system. Our seats were in the first row of the upper mezzanine, which turned out to be a great spot. I’ve listened to the soundtrack a million times but it just does not compare to seeing the show live. I don’t often feel at ease sitting in the middle of a row in a room filled with people. But at times during Hamilton I felt like I was the only person in the room (where it happens). It was pretty magical and I’d love to see the show again.
Luxe beauty brand Tatcha released The Pearl Tinted Eye Illuminating Treatment ($48) earlier this year and I immediately started hearing great things about it. Though I don’t typically have major dark circles under my eyes, the idea of a brightening eye treatment was still appealing…so of course I bought it.

I didn’t have enough empties earlier this summer to warrant an entire post, so I saved up my containers for a larger show-and-tell.
1. Sharp Objects: HBO has done it again with this sumptuously dark tale of a small town in Missouri. I won’t say anything more about the story than that, but the show is exquisite. The leading ladies are perfect, from Amy Adams’ Camille to Patricia Clarkson’s Adora to Eliza Scanlon’s Amma. I had read and enjoyed Gillian Flynn’s book so I remembered the main points, but the show left me feeling like I absolutely need to re-read it, and soon.

1. Wet n Wild Fire Dragon vs. Ice Dragon: when I heard that Wet n Wild was coming out with a Game of Thrones-inspired collection I knew I had to get my hands on at least some of it. My local drugstores aren’t the best at stocking the hottest new beauty products, so I was surprised to spot this collection at Walgreens this week! The display was down on a bottom shelf where I almost completely missed it. I immediately picked up the two brushes and the blue highlighter (shade: Halo Walkers). I don’t even want to use the highlighter because it’s SO beautiful that I don’t want to mess it up! I’ll definitely use the dragon scale-handled brushes, though. How cute is this stuff?? Bonus: it’s vegan and cruelty-free!
