Loads of Late Year Empties
Happy December! This year has felt long, but once November hit I suddenly became acutely aware of how soon 2023 would be over. Time is weird.
I emptied a lot of beauty products last month…so many that I had to break them up into three photos. This first photo is just of the facial skin care that I emptied…keep scrolling to find out which products I would repurchase.

Stocking Up + Trying New Goodies
The 2023 Sephora holiday savings event felt more manic than usual; plenty of items sold out both online and in-store. This time around, I placed two online orders and bought a few things in store. When I went to Sephora at the mall the day before the sale ended, the place was pretty cleaned out. The entire Dior Lip Addict Lip Glow section was empty! Any bets on how many folks bought multiples of luxury beauty items to turn around and sell on eBay or Mercari or whatever?
While in LA right before the sale began, I went to a friend’s house to hang out with a couple other ladies. We shared what was in our carts and ended up influencing each other to add other things to our carts. It was really fun to chat IRL with other beauty lovers!
Now that the savings event has ended (and I re-upped my Rouge status for 2024), it’s time to share my full haul. I filmed a haul video, which you can watch here:
I’m sad that October is over, but I had a fun month of watching a horror movie daily. This was my ninth year in a row of doing 31 Days of Horror…I can’t believe 2024 will be year 10!
Although I had a busy month, I managed to squeeze in a movie a day, with the exception of one movie that I wasn’t able to finish. Here’s the full 2023 list of movies from my Bullet Journal, with my sad attempt to draw a Ghostface in an “o”…lol. Keep reading below for my thoughts on each movie!

Many Spooky Season Empties
Halloween has now passed, and that’s a bummer. But we’re headed into a holiday season that I’m looking forward to, with a couple upcoming trips that should be a good time.
I emptied a fair amount of beauty products last month, including some minis as as result of the travel that we’ve been doing.
Get your Sephora carts ready to go, because the 2023 holiday savings event is imminent…as in, it begins tomorrow for Rouge members! I feel like this sale is arriving earlier than usual, but I could be wrong. I’ve been adding things to my cart like mad and will whittle it down once I figure out what I actually want to buy.
1. Ghost Face Lives Palette x Glamlite: I had heard of Glamlite before but had never ordered from this indie brand until I heard that they were releasing a Ghost Face palette. Scream was the first horror movie I saw in the theater, back in my freshman year of college, and I loved it! So I had to get my hands on this palette. It costs $32 and contains 15 cool-toned eyeshadows in a variety of finishes. These shades are SO up my alley. I haven’t even tried them yet because I don’t want to ruin their perfection!

Skin Care Shopping in France
As promised, I’m sharing more about the skin care products that I bought while onvacationin France! I included these items in my vacation haul post, but I also wanted to do a deeper dive on my beauty goodies.
Now that I’ve recapped our entire vacation (see parts one, two, and three), I’m doing a show and tell of everything I bought! Somehow, it didn’t occur to me prior to our trip that it would be a great opportunity to shop for skin care. Once we arrived in Paris I realized that I needed to hit up some pharmacies!
French pharmacies are different from those in the US in that they carry a mix of mass market and luxury skin care brands; I’m talking CeraVe alongside Caudalie and Skinceuticals. We do have many of the brands here, but they also had some that I hadn’t heard of. Also, the EU allows some ingredients in sunscreen that the FDA doesn’t allow in the US, so they have SPFs that aren’t available here.
Time for the third and final recap of our vacation in France! To close out our trip we stayed four nights in Chamonix and two nights in Geneva, Switzerland. So I’m including Geneva here as well.
After three nights in Paris and three nights in Megève, we drove to Chamonix. This Alpine ski resort is located at the foot of Mont Blanc, which sits on the border of France and Italy. Fun Fact 1: at 15,774 feet high, Mont Blanc stands as the tallest mountain in the Alps. Fun Fact 2: Chamonix hosted the first-ever Winter Olympics in 1924!

Beauty Empties on Vacation
Happy October! My favorite month! Time to show off my beauty empties from September.
A quick note before I get into the empties: I’ll be doing my NINTH annual 31 Days of Horror this year. I have a bit of travel this month so it might be a little tricky to get a movie in every day, but I’ll see what I can do.
