Some New & Exciting Things

1. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom: I never finished The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but I did come close (and still might eventually complete it). BOTW is so massive that even up until the May release of this sequel, I was still scouring the BOTW world for Koroks that I had not yet found. TOTK has practically three times as much to explore as BOTW…it is incredible! I’ve been obsessed since its release, and I play it almost daily. There’s one game element that I find tricky and frustrating (building things with Ultrahand is NOT my forte), but I’m hoping to get the hang of it. Otherwise, I’m enjoying running around this super immersive world.

2. Cocokind Skin Care Gifts: this skin care brand recently offered to send me a few items. Of course, I accepted! I’ve tried and liked a couple Cocokind products (and recently emptied a matcha moisture stick). So I was excited and grateful to receive these three products: Ceramide Barrier Serum [affiliate link; I’ve used this serum before]; Daily SPF 32 [affiliate link]; and Oil to Milk Cleanser [affiliate link]. What I think is extra cool is that the brand prints ingredient percentages on the side of the product boxes. That’s not something I’ve seen before, and I appreciate the transparency. I’m looking forward to trying these; thank you so much, Cocokind!

3. Jug Bay Hike: last weekend, John and I did a four-mile hike in the Jug Bay Wetland Sanctuary in Maryland, about a 45-minute drive from DC. The trail was beautiful and quiet the morning of our hike, and we saw lots of toads along the way. There were also plenty of osprey along the water, and we saw a muskrat swimming in the water as well! I especially loved the area pictured below; there were tons of ferns along the boardwalk, which gave some serious prehistoric vibes. We really enjoyed the hike and would like to return there.

4. Beyond Yoga: I’ve purchased a few workout pieces from this brand recently and am loving them. The material is SO soft! My most recent fave is this Featherweight Keep It Moving Tank in Green Grass Heather. When my package arrived I tried the tank on immediately and headed out for my afternoon walk. It’s not a super affordable brand—for example, this tank is $64 full price—so I try to only buy items when there’s a discount.

5. A Dozen Cousins Jamaican Jerk Seasoning: I received this seasoning packet for free with a Thrive Market order quite some time ago. Recently, I bought tempeh without a plan for how to prepare it and realized the seasoning would be perfect. So I coated the tempeh with this sauce and let it marinate in the fridge for a couple hours before baking it. Delicious! Not too spicy, either. I would buy this on my own, and I’d be interested in trying some of their other products as well. I believe Trader Joe’s carries some of their products, and Whole Foods definitely does too.
