1. Squid Game: I can’t believe I haven’t written about this Netflix show yet. This is an ultra-violent Korean series that I’m sure you’ve at least heard about in passing…it’s extremely popular. We blew through it in about a week and loved it. There’s one episode in particular that’s very moving. If you can’t handle violence then I wouldn’t recommend this show, but otherwise I say check it out if you haven’t already!
Does anyone else find it hard to keep up with ColourPop’s constant launches? I love many of their products, but damn, the brand is a little much. I unsubscribed from their newsletter awhile back because it seems like they release new products daily. That said, when I learned via Instagram that they were launching an orchid themed makeup collection, I actually set a calendar reminder for the release date because how could I not?! In case you’re new here, I’m an orchid nerd with a blog all about orchids called Brooklyn Orchids (which I haven’t posted on in awhile…whoopsie).
1. Nall’s Produce: I first learned of this Alexandria spot via Instagram last year and thought it looked so cute. So I made it a point to finally go this year! We went last Sunday morning right after they opened and it was already starting to get busy by the time we left. So if you want to avoid crowds, go on a weekday or right at opening time if you need to go on a weekend. They had a TON of pumpkins for sale, with a wide variety of colors, shapes, and sizes. We bought a bunch of medium sized pumpkins to display out front, along with a few small pumpkins and gourds for indoor decor. And I had to check out their infamous IG-worthy pumpkin wall, which is just so fun:

1. Pretty Crystals: it’s hard for me to resist crystals when I see them! I bought a bunch on our trip: two small ones at Becca Rose in Olde Mistick Village, and two larger stones plus a smaller one at The Rock & Art Shop in Bar Harbor. Clockwise from top left: rainbow moonstone, sodalite, labradorite with purple flash, lepidolite with tourmaline, and a garnierite palm stone. The labradorite is a smaller chunk of stone like the gorgeous one that John got me for my birthday this year, and I love it.

Like many horror franchises, my 31 Days of Horror challenge won’t die. Each year for the past six years, I’ve watched at least one horror movie a day all throughout October. And I’m going to continue the tradition in 2021.
I’m back with part two of our road trip recap! Part one left off with our stop in Camden, Maine on the drive from Portland to Bar Harbor, located on Mount Desert Island, Maine. We split our Bar Harbor visit into two chunks: two nights at the KOA-owned glamping resort Terramor, then five nights at a hotel. In this post, I’ll talk about a hike in Acadia National Park as well as our time at Terramor—my first time glamping!
Happy Fall, folks! John and I returned home earlier this week from a two-week road trip vacation. We hadn’t been on a two-week vacation in five years! The last time we took a vacation this long was in September 2016, to Wyoming and Colorado (which was a fantastic trip). This time around, we planned a road trip to avoid flying during this never-ending pandemic.
