For every birthday and holiday season, my mom asks me for a gift idea list; these are the items I came up with this time around (minus a couple small gifts I forgot to include in the photo). And my parents sent me everything on my list! I’m very grateful. 🙂
I cannot believe that December is already here and that 2021 is almost over. That’s fine; 2021, you can go now.
Who else feels ready to hunker down for winter? I sure am, especially now that I’m super stocked on dry weather skin care. With the new omicron COVID-19 variant that just cropped up, who knows what the next few months of never-ending pandemic life will bring. Le sigh.
I don’t have a lot of empties to show for November, but we’ll review the few products that I finished:
Sephora’s 2021 holiday event has come and gone! The timing was great—I needed winter skin care so I bought plenty of goodies using my Rouge 20% off discount. I went to my local Sephora right when it opened on the first morning of the Rouge discount. When I came home, I placed an online order for some items my store didn’t have. Then I ordered a few more items several days later. That 20% off will get ya!
I filmed a video of my entire haul, which you can watch below. An oopsie: I totally forgot to show the Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream in the video! The cream is a repurchase and I’ve already begun using it. The tube was sitting right behind me and I did not remember to grab it for the video.

1. I Am Sam: this year I decided I had to dress up as Sam from Trick ‘r Treat, my favorite Halloween movie! I bought my costume from Spirit Halloween, and I absolutely loved it. They have a “men’s” version which is the Sam onesie with mask and gloves. But I wouldn’t have wanted to wear the burlap mask over my entire head. Plus, this “women’s” dress version was super cute. I loved having the hood because we spent hours outside and it was a little chilly out. Of course I also bought Sam’s lollipop weapon to carry with me. Most people thought I was a scarecrow; I guess Trick ‘r Treat isn’t super well known. But a couple trick or treaters recognized who I was (including one pretty young boy of maybe seven or so), which made my night!
I’m a little behind on posting my October beauty empties because I had my long 31 Days of Horror post to edit and publish yesterday. I emptied quite a few products last month, and I ended up with an unintentionally monochromatic color scheme:
Happy November! I’ve successfully completed my seventh consecutive 31 Days of Horror challenge. I ended up watching my way through some popular franchises that I had yet to finish, which was fun. So my list leaned into 80’s and 90’s movies. I tend to gravitate toward horror from those decades, anyway. I also watched quite a few more recent films.
1. What We Do in the Shadows: I truly cannot say enough good things about this Staten Island vampire roommates mockumentary. We’re almost finished watching season three, and it continues to make me LOL more than almost anything else. It’s hilarious, even when it’s gory (which is often because…you know…vampires), and I highly recommend it. It’s an FX show that’s available to stream on Hulu.
