Last week I received an email from Sephora informing me about their newest VIB reward sampler and I knew I had to order something so that I could get my hands on it. So what was the sampler that motivated me to pull the trigger on the Supergoop! Everyday Sunscreen SPF 50 sitting in my cart? It’s a five-piece “discovery and skin care set” from tarte’s new Rainforest of the Sea collection, which I’ve been reading about and was excited to try for myself!

I was already having a good day last Friday, so when my Birchbox showed up in the mail my day got even better! Unfortunately I gouged the top of my Birchbox as I was opening the shipping box a little too enthusiastically with scissors. FAIL.
We all know by now that sunscreen is non-negotiable if we care about protecting our skin. My skin is fair so I use a moisturizer with SPF 30 on my face and neck every day—even if all I’m going to be doing is sitting in my home office (my desk is next to a sunny window). When I know I’m going to be outdoors for awhile I make sure to protect my exposed skin with sunscreen—preferably at least SPF 50—and I sit in the shade whenever possible (I’m probably part vampire).Continue Reading…
1. Sheet Mask Extravaganza! I signed up for Korean beauty website Memebox‘s mailing list a few weeks back, and while I had added some sheet masks to my cart I hadn’t pulled the trigger yet. Then while I was on vacation I received an email from Memebox with a 35% off “spirit animal” discount code on sheet masks…clearly a sign that I should stock up on these goodies. I ordered five masks (four of which have animal faces printed right on the cloth, which is going to be weird and OH SO FUN) and spent a total of $9.15 including shipping. Yep, that’s five sheet masks for less than $10!!
We’ve been back from vacation for several days now and I’m finally beginning to feel like I’m back in the swing of things (“things” meaning “real life”). So I thought it’d be fun to write a blog post recapping our trip! Usually when my husband and I go on vacation we do a good job of not overscheduling ourselves, but we sort of failed at that this time around. It wasn’t the most relaxing vacation ever…but that’s not to say we didn’t have a good time!
When I read about Birchbox‘s new Limited Edition Box I simply had to have it. This box is right up my alley—beginning with the name, “Why Not…Stay In”. As an introvert, I love me some “staying in” time and if I can pamper myself while not being around people, so much for the better!

The other day I was thinking about being lazy and ordering pizza in for dinner, but then I saw a tweet about avocado toast and was inspired to make my own version for dinner.
