Late Summer Beauty Empties
Happy October!! It’s my final summer empties post of the year! I didn’t empty a ton of products, but I still had a fair amount, along with a couple of sheet masks (see below):
Happy Almost October! Can you believe that 2024 marks my TENTH year doing 31 Days of Horror?! For some reason I was thinking this was my eighth or ninth year, but I checked last year’s full watch list and 2023 was actually my ninth. Wild!
1. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice: I was so excited to finally go see this movie last weekend! We went to the Beetlejuice Afterlife Experience in LA right before the movie opened, but didn’t get a chance to actually see the film until now. TBH, I thought the pacing at the start was a little slow, but once it picked up I really enjoyed the movie. I laughed a bunch and had a great time. The OG film is one of my all-time favorites, and though I wouldn’t add this installment to my list of all-timers, I still enjoyed it and would happily watch it again.

LA, Beetlejuice, Spooky Season
Happy Friday the 13th! Just in time for spooky season to kick into gear!
1. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice: The Afterlife Experience: John and I went to this pop-up in Hollywood last week with a couple friends. Had we gone on our own we may not have stayed super long, but since we were catching up with friends we sat in the Afterlife Diner chatting and eating for awhile and enjoyed ourselves. There are lots of cool photo ops, as well as costumed characters roaming around who will pose for pics with you. Attendees got in the spirit with Beetlejuice gear, lending an extra festive vibe. I painted my nails black, purple, and green; I also wore a Halloween shirt, Beetlejuice makeup (see below), and attached an Adam Maitland bag clip to my purse. All very subtle, but IYKYK. If you’re a Beetlejuice fan (which of course I am), check it out! I haven’t gotten to see Beetlejuice Beetlejuice yet, but I hope to very soon.

Many Empties!
Hello, Almost Fall! We’ve had a pretty hot summer in DC and as always, I’m very ready for it to be over. PSLs have arrived and Halloween decor is in many stores, so things are looking up. 🙂
Ready to see what beauty products I emptied in August 2024? These are my skin care empties:

Five Late Summer Things
1. Deadpool & Wolverine Funko Pops: I’m still obsessed with this record-breaking movie that I had the privilege of watching in Hall H at SDCC. John and I saw the movie last weekend and I enjoyed the hell out of it the second time around. After returning from San Diego, I saw on Instagram that Funko had Pops of these best bubs. Obviously, I ordered both immediately. They’ll be a cute reminder of the all-timer experience that I had in Hall H!
I had a fantastic time at San Diego Comic-Con 2024 (my 14th year!). The con went by so quickly, and I’m sad that it’s already over. As always, I’m here to recap my experience in a long post with entirely too many photos. Part of the reason for this post’s length is (Spoiler Alert!) the fact that I had the privilege to attend the Deadpool & Wolverine panel in Hall H!! HUMBLEBRAG x 1,000,000!

Many Mini Empties
Happy August! I just got back from San Diego Comic-Con on Monday and managed to hammer out this empties post in my post-con glow-slash-haze. Please stay tuned for my SDCC recap coming soon!
Let’s move on to the beauty products that I emptied last month, shall we?
My fourteenth San Diego Comic-Con will be here next week! This year should be the most “normal” con since 2019, due to two years of ramping back up post-pandemic and then the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes last summer.
Every year I share a post offering tips based on my experience for SDCC newbies. For packing suggestions, scroll allllll the way to the bottom. Additionally, I recommend the SDCC Unofficial Blog—an excellent resource.
