Spooky Season Northern Lights and more!
1. NORTHERN LIGHTS IN DC!!!!! This week’s geomagnetic storm resulted in the aurora borealis being visible waaaaay more south than usual. A little after sunset yesterday, I saw someone in the Northeast US post a pic of the Northern Lights. So I decided to go to our roof deck and take photos to see if I could see anything. When I first went outside, it just looked like a normal evening. Once I began taking photos, the aurora borealis popped up in them. For some reason, our phone cameras can capture the phenomenon really well! I ran inside to tell John to come upstairs with his phone so he could experience it too. I have been dying to see the Northern Lights, and could not believe that my first time seeing them was from my own roof deck!!!
FYI, the Northern Lights may be visible tonight too, though probably not as intense. Go outside a little after sunset and snap photos of the sky!
2. Colourpop x Stranger Things Collection: the second I saw that CP had released a Stranger Things colleciton, I headed to their website. I started adding a few of the items to my cart and then realized it would make more sense to buy the full collection…so that’s what I did. And IT IS ADORABLE. I will write a dedicated post about this collection!
3. Light-up Sam Statue: I thought I was done with buying Halloween decor this year, but I was mistaken. I wanted to get some more things for our back yard, which I’m decorating for the first time, so I headed to Spirit Halloween’s website. While browsing, I found this cute Sam statue on sale: $28.98, down from $44.99. I would not have paid full price for this, but the sale price was totally palatable. The jack-o-lantern lights up, and it is so cute!!
4. Beetlejuice Snake Snow Globe: I had my eye on this for awhile on Spirit Halloween’s website. I finally pulled the trigger when I ordered the Sam statue, along with a couple of ghouls to hang from trees in our back yard. SH had sent me a 20% off coupon, so I didn’t pay full price for this piece either. It is hefty and feels like good quality. Super adorable!
5. Bullet Journal Artist Edition 2024: BuJo’s artist editions are always beautiful and I’ve bought them for the last couple of years. When I saw this year’s design, it was an instant purchase for me. How pretty is this holographic starry night sky cover?! It will be a joy to use every day.
