LA, Beetlejuice, Spooky Season
Happy Friday the 13th! Just in time for spooky season to kick into gear!
1. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice: The Afterlife Experience: John and I went to this pop-up in Hollywood last week with a couple friends. Had we gone on our own we may not have stayed super long, but since we were catching up with friends we sat in the Afterlife Diner chatting and eating for awhile and enjoyed ourselves. There are lots of cool photo ops, as well as costumed characters roaming around who will pose for pics with you. Attendees got in the spirit with Beetlejuice gear, lending an extra festive vibe. I painted my nails black, purple, and green; I also wore a Halloween shirt, Beetlejuice makeup (see below), and attached an Adam Maitland bag clip to my purse. All very subtle, but IYKYK. If you’re a Beetlejuice fan (which of course I am), check it out! I haven’t gotten to see Beetlejuice Beetlejuice yet, but I hope to very soon.
2. Beetlejuice Gift Shop: at the experience, you exit through the gift shop. I couldn’t resist buying a magnet for our fridge and a pair of really cute sandworm socks.
3. NYX Cosmetics Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Collection: a few weeks ago I found out that this brand had a Bjuice collection, so I immediately went to their website and ordered a few items. I got the Pin Stripe Duo Liner in no. 2 (black + purple chrome), Color for the Recently Deceased Eyeshadow Palette [affiliate link], Shrinker Makeup Sponge, Sandworm Swirl Butter Lip Gloss in Black + White, and the Dead Cold Undereye Patches. Mini Funko Pops in the photo are mine from a Halloween advent calendar. 🙂 I think the palette might be too cute to use, but I’m liking the eyeliner duo and lip gloss. I wore them to the Beetlejuice Experience!
4. Funko Pop Jumbo Killer Klowns from Outer Space: before we went to LA, I made my first Spirit Halloween trip of the season! When I spotted this Spirit Exclusive Killer Klown Pop, I had to add him to my collection. At first I thought he was glow-in-the-dark, but he’s actually a black light Pop! I don’t have any black light but maybe I’ll have to get one so I can see how he looks in it.
5. Vacation Classic Lotion SPF 50 [affiliate link]: the only item unrelated to spooky season in this post! I bought this sunscreen from Target awhile back but hadn’t gotten to try it yet. I packed it for our LA trip and finally got around to using it. Vacation has truly nailed the 80’s vintage packaging and sunscreen smell! This stuff smells like coconut and banana and really takes me back. I like the feel of the suncreen, though it takes a little bit of work to wash off in the shower. And you have to make sure to shake the tube really well before applying, because the product does separate. Overall though, I do like this stuff!
