My First Empties of 2024

Is it just me, or did January feel approximately three months long? I know that January is a long month, but this year it felt longer than usual. Maybe that’s why I emptied so many products! I’ve broken my empties down into categories below.

January 2024 beauty empties

Would I Repurchase?
  • Eminence Stone Crop Hydrating Mist [affiliate link]: bought this at the spa store at our hotel during our pre-SDCC anniversary trip last summer. I think it might have caused irritation on my eyelids, and the actual spray nozzle itself wasn’t very good. I still emptied the mist, but I would not repurchase it.
  • Eminence Bright Skin Masque [affiliate link]: also purchased this at our hotel’s spa store. I liked this mask, which claims to be a natural hydroquinone alternative, much more than the mist. It didn’t lighten my dark spots, but at this point I think that’s a job for lasers and peels. My skin did look bright after using this mask, so I would buy it again. And I want to try more from this brand.
  • Patchology Flashpatch Restoring Night Eye Gels [gifted; affiliate link]: I typically use eye gels in the morning, but I did enjoy incorporating these into my night routine from time to time. The skin around my eyes is looking pretty good, and I’d consider purchasing these on my own.
  • Paula’s Choice Barrier Repair Advanced Moisturizer [gifted; affiliate link]: this was a great cream to use as the weather turned colder and drier. I’ve experienced little dryness in my skin so far this winter, even when the temperature dropped into the 20s. I’d buy this moisturizer on my own.
  • Paula’s Choice 25% Vitamin C + Glutathione Clinical Serum [gifted; affiliate link]: I love using vitamin C in my routine, so I appreciated getting to try this new one from Paula’s Choice. The serum was fine and didn’t cause any irritation, though I didn’t feel like I saw any difference in my skin while using it. So I don’t think I’d buy this one on my own.
  • Doctor Rogers Restore Lip Balm [affiliate link]: a really moisturizing, slightly tacky lip balm that kept my lips hydrated. The stickiness isn’t my favorite, but I like how plain it is. No scent, flavor, or frills. Would consider repurchasing for winter.
  • Maybelline Falsies Lashlift Mascara mini [affiliate link]: a declutter because it had been open for three months. This was part of a holiday gift mascara set I bought in St. Louis over Thanksgiving after I had a mishap with the mascara I had packed. I didn’t love this mascara; I still prefer Maybelline Lash Sensational.
Hair & Body

January 2024 body & hair care empties

  • K18 Leave-in Molecular Repair Hair Mask mini [affiliate link]: I’ve already purchased a second mini of this expensive hair mask. I use a small amount after showering from time to time, and I like how my hair looks and feels when I use it.
  • Nutrafol Hair Serum [affiliate link]: I bought two of these during the most recent Sephora savings event, and I’ve cracked open the second bottle. I feel like I’m seeing a tiiiiny bit of growth, but let’s be honest: this isn’t going to give me a luxurious head of hair…that’s just not in the cards for me.
  • Biolage Full Density Shampoo [affiliate link]: I really like this shampoo for my super fine hair. I lather up and let it sit for a minute, like you would with conditioner, before rinsing. The scent gives me a nostalgic feeling, because I remember using Biolage in high school. I’ve purchased a giant bottle already.
  • Diptyque Eau Rose sample [affiliate link]: I used up this little spritz that came with my first Diptyque order. This rosy scent was really nice, but I don’t love it enough to buy a whole bottle. I do have a larger sized travel bottle of this scent from the same order, so that’ll be good enough for me.
  • Saint-Gervais Mont Blanc Anti-Dryness Shower Gel: I’m on my third and final bottle of this shower gel that I bought at a pharmacy in the French Alps while on vacation. I’ll be sad to finish up my stash.
  • Kitsch Shave Butter [affiliate link]: I stocked up on these awhile back and have begun using my next bar.
  • Trader Joe’s Pineapple Bergamot Body Butter: I’ve steered clear of scented body products forever due to sensitive skin. But lately I’m finding that my skin tolerates them. I really liked this mildly scented body butter from a TJs holiday trio. I’m also loving the other two scents, especially the white gardenia…I would absolutely buy that on its own if TJ ever offers it.
Masking

January 2024 mask empties

Wow, that was a lot to go through. I’m guessing I won’t have this many empties in February. I do have some travel coming up so I’ll mostly be using travel products instead of my usual routine. Stay tuned….
