Late Summer Beauty Empties

Happy September! It’s been super hot here in LA, and from what I hear, September and October also tend to be quite hot here. I’m accustomed to East Coast weather that cools down for fall (which I LOVE). So…we’ll see how I end up liking the “fall” out in Southern California.

I didn’t empty a ton of products last month, but here’s what I did get through:

August 2026 Beauty Empties

Would I Repurchase?
  • Youth to the People Superfood Skin Drip [gifted; affiliate link]: this serum leaves a slightly radiant finish on my skin, but I don’t love it the way I love YTTP’s Vitamin C serum. They’ve gifted me another bottle of this and I will use it, but I don’t think I’d purchase it on my own.
  • ÞRÍR ICELAND Volcano Scrub Exfoliating Mask: part of a face mask trio that I ordered right after our Iceland vacation. I was interested in buying it on our trip but by the time I decided I wanted the set, I didn’t see it anywhere. So I ordered it online. This mask is very nice and I will buy it again when I go back to Iceland. They actually sent me a second tube of this scrub with my order, so I have an extra to get me through in the meantime!
  • Byredo Bal d’Afrique Body Wash [affiliate link]: I discovered this body wash at the Intercontinental San Diego, as this is the toiletry brand that the hotel offers in its rooms. The scent is so lovely that I decided to order myself the body wash. It’s pricey, but I would repurchase at a discount.
  • Kérastase Chronologiste Revitalizing Youth Shampoo [affiliate link]: this is a lovely shampoo for my fine, thin hair. I got another bottle for my birthday and will begin using it soon.
  • OneSkin OS-01 Face Moisturizer [gifted; affiliate link]: this was my second gifted bottle of this moisturizer, and it’s really nice. It’s relatively pricey, but I would purchase it if I had a discount.
  • Trader Joe’s Pomegranate Berry Lip Butter Balm: a declutter from last year’s holiday beauty box. This balm felt like it slid around on my lips without actually moisturizing. I wouldn’t buy one of these.
  • Paula’s Choice Pro-Collagen Peptide Gloss Balm [gifted; affiliate link]: this gloss balm is really good! It feels hydrating, lasts on my lips, and seems to make my lips look a little fuller. Would buy on my own.
  • Youth to the People Youthscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 60 [gifted; affiliate link]: this SPF applies nicely and I love that it is a higher SPF than most brands out there! The finish is a little shiny for my liking, though. I’ve purchased a tube on my own and I will use it up, but I’m not sure I’d repurchase unless I know I’ll be out in the hot sun a lot.
  • Trader Joe’s Mango Moisturizing Lip Balm: from a holiday lip balm set. These tubes are great lip balms to keep in my purse
  • Heretic Parfum Queen of the Night sample: not my favorite perfume from this brand, but I liked it enough to use up.
  • Beauty of Joseon Day Dew Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 mini [affiliate link]: from the Sephora Korean skin care must haves set. I’ve gone through a full sized tube of this and I love it. I will purchase it again.
