Holiday Gifts for ME!
It feels like Sephora just held a bonus event—the most recent one was in August, which was unusual. Typically Sephora only does two of these a year: one in the spring and one in the fall. I most likely won’t make Rouge status for 2019, so I wanted to take advantage of that 20% off while I could. So I went a little ham on my order…but I’m excited about my new goodies!
Here’s the full list of items that I bought with my Rouge discount:

Mask Time
My skin is already feeling dry and tight and it’s only the beginning of November. I wanted to get a hydrating mask so I filtered for that in Sephora’s mask section and decided to order this Origins Hello, Calm Relaxing & Hydrating Face Mask. I’ve received a couple Origins mask samples from Play! by Sephora and liked them, so I thought I’d give this one a go. Plus, it’s a lot more affordable than some of the other hydrating mask options. I can’t wait to try it out!
A beauty community friend posted about the Sephora Collection The Silver Mask so I added it to my cart immediately. Then I saw that they also have The Golden Mask so I figured I’d get it too. These are foil sheet masks so they’re of course Instagram friendly (I mean…isn’t all skin care these days?). The Silver Mask is for brightening and the Golden Mask hydrates and smooths. I’ve never used a foil sheet mask before. These will be really fun sheet masks to try out…stay tuned for pics!
I got two GlamGlow Bubblesheet Oxygenating Deep Cleanse Masks in my Fall FabFitFun box and really liked them. These are not cheap individually, so I ordered the three pack: GLAMGLOW The Art of Glowing Skin Bubble Party Set. I’m glad I was able to stock up on these at an additional discount! And how fun is that holographic packaging?!
I first heard about Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Rose Gold Eye Masks on the Natch Beaut podcast. Then I started seeing them all over Instagram. I don’t use eye patches very often but I want to start using them more, so this 5-pack is perfect to start! Also very Insta-friendly. More content! 😛
Other Skin Care
I bought a full sized jar of The Water Cream by Tatcha during the last bonus event because I thought it would be a good winter nighttime moisturizer. I do like it, but now that the weather is starting to cool down and dry out I think it might actually not be quite enough for the super dry winter. So I decided to buy Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream because it was a great nighttime winter moisturizer for me last year. I can already tell I’ll probably need to bust this one out soon. I’ll probably switch to using The Water Cream as a morning moisturizer at that point.
I think I’m running low on my Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos™ Glycolic Night Serum—it’s hard to tell because of the way it’s packaged. I’ve been seeing Farmacy Honeymoon Glow all over Instagram and I’ve liked the couple other Farmacy products that I’ve tried, so I decided to get this to use when I run out of Framboos. Plus, it’s a lot more affordable ($58 vs. $90 full priced). I’m looking forward to trying this stuff!
The Milk Makeup Cooling Water Mini has come in really handy lately with all the tears over saying goodbye to our kitty Walter. I feel like I will actually use up the first one I got so I went ahead and got another mini. I didn’t want to buy a full sized stick because they are HUGE!
Don’t Forget the Lips
My lips have been so dry and flaky lately, so I figured why not try a new lip balm? This Sephora Collection Watermelon Lip Balm is so adorable I had to get it! I’m usually pretty much mint-only with lip balm, but I do like watermelon so I thought I’d break out of my comfort zone. I haven’t used this balm much yet but so far it’s pretty nice.
Hello, old friend. It was very hard to resist buying the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask because it was already 50% off and then I got 20% off half price. I recently started using the Laneige Sleeping Lip Mask and it’s pretty good, but honestly it’s not as good as the Bite mask. Laneige is probably fine for my lips in the summer, but I’ll need something more heavy duty in the winter and I already know that Bite does the trick.
Trying a New Makeup Brand
I was very interested in trying something by new-to-Sephora K-beauty brand Kaja, so I picked out the Mochi Pop Bouncy Blush in 01 Aura. The packaging is utterly adorable! The bouncy blush idea is similar to Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush, which I really liked but never see in stores anymore. This stuff has a very soft, bouncy texture and is a lot of fun to apply.
Here’s a swatch of the blush on my arm. Aura is a beautiful peachy pink shade with golden shimmer. I like the color, but I don’t like the shimmer; it’s a little much for everyday…for me, at least. It’s fine for date night or a party, but there are visible flecks of glitter in it and I’m just not into that. I feel like I might not use the blush much because of the glitter, so I’m considering returning it. What do you think—would you return a glittery blush?
That’s it for my Sephora Holiday Bonus haul! I spent a total of $215.39 this round. I believe that’s the most I’ve ever spent in one go at Sephora (actually, I bought the Bite and Milk products in store and the other stuff online, so technically it wasn’t in one go). I’d like to pretend it was entirely a grief order the day that we decided to put Walter to sleep, but if I’m being honest I already had most of these items in my cart by that point. It’s definitely a cringeworthy amount of money, but hey, at least it was all 20% off! Rationalization! Cringey face!
