Leap Month Empties
Happy March! I hope you enjoyed your extra day in February. We went to LA for a friend’s belated wedding celebration on Leap Day, so that was a super fun event to head west for.
I had a decent number of beauty empties in February:
Would I Repurchase?
- Tula Skincare Purifying Face Cleanser [affiliate link]: bought this on sale from Ulta and used it as my morning shower cleanser. It does leave a bit of a squeaky clean feeling, but my skin doesn’t feel stripped so I still think this is a good cleanser for me. Would buy again.
- Tata Harper Superkind Softening Cleanser [affiliate link]: after getting a facial at our hotel’s Tata Harper spa in the French Alps, I wanted to get me some TH to use at home. So I bought this cleanser during the Sephora holiday savings event. This was a really nice, gentle second cleanse at night. I would buy this again at a discount, but I do also want to try the brand’s more well-known Regenerating Cleanser.
- Fable & Mane HoliRoots Hair Oil Mini [affiliate link]: also bought this during the Sephora savings event. I ended up buying a full sized bottle during the event as well. I don’t love the scent, but I do like massaging this into my scalp before I wash my hair; I do so a couple times a week.
- The Inkey List Hyaluronic Acid Serum [gifted; affiliate link]: I’m not entirely sure my skin needs a dedicated HA serum, but I was happy to try this gifted product. I used it twice a day and my skin hasn’t felt dry all winter, so maybe it did have an impact on my skin. At $10, it’s quite affordable so I’d consider it for a future winter if I’m feeling dry.
- Pure Altitude Crème Nutrialpes: bought this at the brand’s spa store in Megève. I really liked this as a winter nighttime cream. I would totally order this online, as the brand ships worldwide. I’m happy that I discovered this Alps-founded brand.
- Maelove NIA 10 Calming Serum [gifted; affiliate link]: Niacinamide is another ingredient that I’m not sure is necessary for my skin care routine. I used this serum up, but honestly I’m not really sure if it did much for my skin. It certainly didn’t cause any harm, but I don’t think I truly need this serum.
- Cocokind Chlorophyll Discoloration Serum [gifted; affiliate link]: I’d like to fade a couple of post-whitehead dark spots, so this serum was a good one to try. I’m not sure how much the serum helped versus the spots fading on their own over time. It’s always hard to tell how effective certain things are when you use so many products! Cocokind has sent me a second bottle of this, so I will use that up and see if I see any further benefit.
Masks & Declutters
I also used a bunch of sheet masks, and had a couple of makeup items to declutter.
- Patchology FlashMasque Hydrate [gifted; affiliate link]: always a good mask! I have bought this on my own before Patchology gifted me some.
- Joon x Moon Mistle Toe Shower Steamers: bought these at Target over the holidays. I recently used them while I had Covid, and I have to say they were kind of a nothingburger. They didn’t smell like much…and that’s not because I had Covid, because I didn’t lose my sense of taste or smell. So, I wouldn’t buy these again.
- MasqueBar Penguin Purifying Sheet Mask: just a fun-slash-creepy mask from a Target holiday gift set that I bought for myself.
- Patchology Detoxifying Charcoal Nose Strip [gifted]: always fun to use, would buy on my own.
- Simihaze Super Slick Lip Balm in Blossom [affiliate link]: bought this during a 2022 Sephora savings event. What a disappointment, honestly…even at the discounted price of $22.40. This tinted lip balm is TINY for the full size price of $28, and it’s not at all hydrating. I only tried it a couple times. Waste of money, IMO.
- Talika Paris Eye Therapy Patch [affiliate link]: I discovered this brand in a French pharmacy, and ended up ordering some items during a recent online sale. I love that these are reusable up to three times! I’ve only used one pair once, but so far so good.
- Miss Den Paris Hypernova Mascara: bought this at a supermarket outside Megève. I grabbed it so that I could try a French makeup brand that I had never heard of. Unfortunately, this mascara wasn’t great; it smudged under my eyes and didn’t really make my lashes look all that spectacular. Meh.
- Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Rose Gold Eye Masks x 2 [affiliate link]: love these, will continue to buy!
- Patchology FlashMasque Illuminate [gifted; affiliate link]: not pictured. Would buy on my own.
That’s more empties than I realized! I think I’ll end up with a bunch of empties in March as well. Cheers to spring being around the corner!!
