Finally, A Cool-Toned Palette
Most eyeshadow palettes these days are warm-toned, and people go nuts every time a new one is released. Personally, I feel rather lukewarm about warm palettes (see what I did there, hehe). I’ve dabbled with a couple, but usually end up not liking how many of the shades look on me, particularly reds, pinks, and oranges. So I was excited when ColourPop released the cool-toned Fame palette awhile back!
I actually waited months before ordering this palette. Even though at $22 Fame is quite affordable, I kept prioritizing other purchases. Recently, though, ColourPop sent me a $5 off code for filling out a survey, so I decided that it was finally Fame time. And of course, I ordered a few other items to get the free shipping. I know…spending more to get free shipping totally defeats the purpose of a discount. The psychology of shopping, ladies and gentlemen!
In addition to Fame, I got a Tapered Blending Brush ($6), Brow Boss Gel in Dark Brown ($6), and the Disney Designer Collection Ultra Glossy Lip in Boo ($6). With my $5 discount and free shipping (LOL), I spent $35 on these four items. Not bad, ColourPop…not bad!
Fame Pressed Powder Shadow Palette
Folks…I am psyched to finally have Fame in my collection! Fame includes 16 pressed powder shadows in a variety of finishes: matte, satin, and metallic. With my discount, I spent $17 on Fame, which comes out to just $1.06 per shadow.
I feel like a broken record, but ColourPop’s packaging is just too cute:
Fame is comprised of 75% light and medium shades and 25% dark shades. A couple of the matte light shades, Center Stage and Delirium, pretty much blend into my skin tone. So those will actually be great for those days where I want to put something on but don’t want to look like I’m wearing makeup.
How beautiful are these colors?! I think Dazzle, Debutante, and Privy are especially pretty.
Here’s how ColourPop describes each shade:
- Center Stage: soft matte cream
- Extravaganza: metallic cool champagne
- Show Boat: satin icy pink cream
- Delirium: soft matte beige
- The Most: metallic icy rose
- Razzle: matte rosy taupe
- Dazzle: metallic iced taupe
- Stardom: matte mauve
- Celeb: matte soft lilac
- Debutante: metallic silvery lilac
- Clubhouse: matte greige plum
- Privy: metallic silvery taupe
- Posh: metallic smokey pinky plum
- Blasé: matte gunmetal
- Piece of Me: satin deep amethyst
- Lifestyle: matte smoked aubergine
Check out the swatches of the top two rows of shades on my arm (you’ll see how close Center Stage and Delirium are to my skin tone):
And here are swatches of the bottom two rows (Celeb also doesn’t show up too well on my arm):
The dark matte swatches dragged a little but we’ll see how they perform on the lid. Blasé and Lifestyle will be really good liner colors. I can’t wait to play around with this palette! Scroll down for a simple look I created using a few Fame shades.
The Extras
After getting the Disney Ultra Glossy Lip in Bibbidi, I decided to add Boo to my collection as well. While I appreciate the matte lip look, I prefer a more moisturizing, shiny lip. This is my third Ultra Glossy Lip and I’m really liking the formula. Boo is a beautiful warm rose that will go very well with eye looks from the Fame palette.
I believe the Brow Boss Gel is pretty new. The packaging is reminiscent of Glossier Boy Brow, but Brow Boss costs almost a third of the price. The small brush is similar to Boy Brow as well. I’ve used this once so far and it’s a little less pigmented than Boy Brow, but overall it seems like a pretty good dupe.
And you can see the Tapered Blending Brush I bought in a couple of the photos above. I have a couple blending brushes but haven’t been thrilled with them so I figured why not spend a few bucks on another one and see how I like it? I used it to create the look I’m wearing in the below photos, and so far so good.
Below you can see me wearing Fame, Brow Boss, and Boo!

Yet another fun ColourPop order is in the books! I’m still loving ColourPop—it’s becoming one of my most-purchased makeup brands!
Do you have the Fame palette and if so, are you a fan of it?
