My 2019 Black Friday Goodies
Black Friday has never really appealed to me…at least, not in the traditional, in-store mania sense. The online deals, though, are often too tempting to pass up. I ended up ordering from three websites on Black Friday, and as of a few days ago, everything has finally arrived. So I’m sharing my 2019 Black Friday haul with you!
Glossier
At first I wasn’t going to order anything from Glossier’s 20% off sale. But I decided to replace my current Stretch Concealer, which I bought in April 2017 and must be expired by now. I’ve also been really interested in trying the brand’s new Futuredew serum, so I added that to my cart. The Milky Oil Waterproof Makeup Remover wasn’t even on my radar (Glossier has really expanded their product line this year!), but because it was less than $10 during the sale I decided to get one of those as well.
Here’s a little blob of the Futuredew serum on my (cat-scratched, eczema itchies) hand:
It has such a pretty, peachy-pink pearlescent sheen! I can’t wait to use this serum.
Glossier has expanded their concealer shade range since I first purchased the product (hooray for inclusion!), so I sorta guessed which shade to buy. I originally bought Light, which was a good shade for me. This time around I picked G11, a light neutral shade that turned out to be similar to Light. So I did well!

Brooklyn Candle Studio
This lovely handmade candle purveyor offered 30% off for Black Friday, so I stocked up by buying three items:
I got the Italia Escapist Candle, the Catskills Escapist Candle, and the Limited Edition Pink Disco Candle in Cypress, which I bought last year and loved. I’m such a fan of Brooklyn Candle Studio [referral link], ever since I took a candlemaking workshop there a few years ago. If you’re interested in trying them out, you can get 20% off by shopping with my referral link! If you do use my link, I’ll receive a $10 credit to the online store. 🙂
Rituel de Fille
The third place I ordered from is Rituel de Fille, a brand with serious witch vibes that I heard of probably a couple years ago and have eyed on and off ever since. I can’t quite remember where I heard about this brand, but I’m pretty sure the first product of theirs that I heard of was the Rare Light Luminizer. They’re especially well known for their “black blush,” the Inner Glow Crème Pigment in Eclipse. Their products are cruelty-free and crafted using natural ingredients, so no parabens, phthalates, synthetic dyes or synthetic fragrances. RdF offered a 20% Black Friday discount, so I took it as a sign that it was time for me to try the brand.
In addition to the discount, they were also giving away a complimentary Rare Light Luminizer in Spectre if you bought three products, and an additional Rare Light Luminizer (I can’t remember the shade) if you bought six products. Sooo…I ordered three products, partly in order to get Spectre!
I ordered the following: Inner Glow Crème Pigment in Desire, Ash and Ember Eye Soot in Sigil, and Forbidden Lipstick in Prey. And of course, I got that free Rare Light Luminizer in Spectre, which I don’t currently see for sale on the website.

I swatched each product on my arm, and they’re so beautiful!

These formulas are so creamy and smooth. The Inner Glow Crème Pigment is for use on lips, cheeks, and eyes (though I wouldn’t use this particular shade on my eyes). I didn’t intentionally order similar lipstick and crème pigment shades, but they complement each other really well. They’re both very mauve-y, though Prey has more lavender and grey in the mix. Desire goes quite nicely over Prey, and it blends out to a lovely rosy flush on my cheeks as well.
The Eye Soot comes in a teeny prism jar with a small opening that I can basically only fit a pinkie in. The formula is sort of a powder cream, and it can function as an eyeshadow or an eyeshadow primer. RdF describes the shade as a warm rosé champagne shade with subtle, sheer golden sparks and a softly glimmering finish…which is spot on. It’s very pretty and will be awesome as a really simple eye when I’m too lazy to do anything else.
Spectre is a gorgeous pale pink-and-gold toned opalescent creme highlighter; the shade reminds me a little of RMS Beauty’s classic Living Luminizer. I’ve used each of these products a couple times so far and I’m really liking them!
