Late Summer Empties
Happy fall, Happy OCTOBER…my favorite month!! I had quite a few empties in September, mostly skin care this time. Let’s get right to it.
Would I Repurchase?
- Neostrata Triple Firming Neck Cream [gifted; affiliate link]: It’s hard to say whether I saw any improvement in neck firming after using this cream. I think my crepe-y neck skin maybe looks ever so slightly more firm, but nothing that would wow you in a before and after. Would potentially buy this on my own to see if continued use helped more.
- Blue Lagoon Skin Care Lip Balm sample [affiliate link]: a free sample with a purchase at the lagoon’s gift shop. Icelandic skin care brands love giving away samples! This lip balm was hydrating and thick, with a slight fruity scent. Would purchase full sized.
- Alpyn Beauty Instant Bright Eye [affiliate link]: this eye cream was fine, nothing special for me. Also, the cream is so thick that once it got down to the bottom of the bottle, it was hard to get any of it to pump out even though I could see that there was plenty left. A jar would be a better container for a cream of this consistency.
- Heretic Parfum Black Salt sample [affiliate link]: this is one of a few fragrance samples in a Heretic Beach Goth set that I got for my birthday. The perfume smells so good! I would buy it full sized.
- Cocokind Electrolyte Water Cream [gifted; affiliate link]: a lovely, light cream that was perfect for my summer AM skin care routine. Would buy on my own.
- Bioeffect EGF Body Serum mini [affiliate link]: free gift with purchase at the store in Reykjavik. This has a bit of a sticky finish that I don’t love, so I wouldn’t buy it full sized. I do have a second bottle that they gifted me so I will empty that as well.
- Lush Magic Crystals Body Scrub: LOVE. I’ve gone through several tubs of this and am moving on to my next one
- Bioeffect Hydrating Cream mini [affiliate link]: another gift with purchase. I think this cream might have given me a few small pimples. Not totally sure, but for that reason I don’t think I’d buy it full sized.
- Grown Alchemist Conditioner mini [affiliate link]: from a gift set at our hotel in Megève. This conditioner smells so good! I don’t use conditioner often so I probably wouldn’t buy full sized.
- Peter Thomas Roth 24K Gold Mask [affiliate link]: a fun mask to use. I do feel like my skin looked a little more radiant after using this one. Would buy full sized.
- Glow Recipe Plum Plump Hyaluronic Cream [affiliate link]: somehow I feel like this cream, which I used at night, made my nose a little oily when I woke up in the morning. The cream was good enough for me to use up, but I don’t think I’d repurchase it.
- Goodal Green Tangerine Vita-C Eye Gel Patch [affiliate link]: love that these come in a jar rather than individual packages. Though I didn’t see any visible benefit, I would repurchase. They felt so soothing and hydrating.
- Lush Ghost in the Dark Soap: not pictured, for obvious reasons. This soap was very soft and only lasted maybe a couple weeks. But I’d repurchase because the scent was very energizing in the morning.
Single Use
- Dr. Jart+ Cryo Rubber Cooling Mask [affiliate link]: so creepy and fun, though these slide around on your face because the mask material is a little heavy. Will probably stick to more traditional sheet masks for that reason.
- Smoothies Facial Adhesives Variety Pack [affiliate link]: these are just okay. They’re easier to use than Frownies, but I don’t think they’re as effective. Would repurchase Frownies over Smoothies.
- Bioeffect Imprinting Eye Mask: I like these and would repurchase.
- Rare Beauty Find Comfort Hydrating Under Eye Patches [affiliate link]: love, would repurchase.
- Trader Joe’s Hydrating Biocellulose Face Mask: these feel hydrating and are affordable. Would repurchase.
- Dr. Dennis Gross Universal Daily Peel Pads x3 [affiliate link]: I’m enjoying these and might repurchase during the next Sephora sale.
