Mostly Empties + A Couple Declutters
Hello, June! My birthday month! I’m actually posting this from a beach vacation…it’s so hot and humid out that I don’t mind sitting in the air conditioned room to write.
I emptied a fair amount of products last month, and had a couple items to declutter:
May was not a heavy sheet mask month for me, but I did use a foot peel as vacation prep:
Would I Repurchase?
- Trader Joe’s Gingerbread Cookie Moisturizing Lip Balm: from the Trader Joe’s 2023 12 Days of Beauty Box. This was quite moisturizing and I liked it! It’s unfortunately not available to buy.
- Haus Labs PhD Hybrid Lip Oil in Tint [affiliate link]: a declutter from the Sephora Summer Showstoppers Kit that I bought during the spring savings event. This product is an absolutely not for me. My lips just eat the product up and I have to reapply constantly so my lips don’t feel dry. No thanks.
- Dove Glow Recharge Body Wash [gifted; affiliate link]: this 3% vitamin C body wash was nice, though I don’t think I noticed much of a glow-up in terms of my body skin tone. This berry-scented wash was pleasant to use for my daily shower. It contains exfoliating minerals that are gentle enough for everyday use. I’d consider buying on my own.
- Shiseido Future Solutions LX Eye Cream [gifted; affiliate link]: I received this very expensive (we’re talking $300+) eye cream complimentary via Influenster. TBH, I didn’t like it at first and gave it a bad review on Influenster. But as I continued to use it, I ended up thinking it was fine enough to use up. Nothing extraordinary; certainly not mind-blowing enough to spend that much on my own. I did like the little ceramic tool they include for massaging the cream in underneath your eyes. I’ve continued to use the tool with a different eye cream.
- Prose Shampoo: this is my second purchase of this custom shampoo and I enjoy it. I get the botanica scent, and I absolutely love it. The shampoo formula itself isn’t a game-changer for my hair, but it’s good enough to be a repurchase for me.
- Pure Altitude Eau d’Herbes Herbal Toner: from the brand’s spa store in Megève on our France vacation. This mist smelled very minty, which I liked, but the actual spray wasn’t the best. It was not my favorite purchase from them.
- Peach & Lily Power Calm Hydrating Gel Cleanser [affiliate link]: a really nice, slippery cleanser that I used in the shower each morning. Very gentle and didn’t feel like it stripped my skin. Would repurchase.
- Maelove Fade Away Brightening Serum [gifted; affiliate link]: this green grass-colored serum was thick and very sticky. It was okay, but I didn’t feel like it had much of a brightening effect on my skin. I don’t think I’d buy this serum on my own.
- Maybelline Falsies Surreal Mascara mini [affiliate link]: from a holiday mascara trio I bought last winter. Eh. Nothing special about this one. It had been open for at least three months so it was time to declutter.
- Naturium Plant Ceramide Rich Moisture Cream [affiliate link]: I used this as a night cream and enjoyed it. The texture had kind of a cushy, bouncy feel. A basic, affordable cream that I would repurchase.
- Tonymoly Changing Magic Foot Peeling Shoes [affiliate link]: these are typically fun, but I didn’t have a dramatic peeling effect after using these. It’s been awhile since I last did a foot peel, but I must not have had a ton of dead skin to slough off this time.
- Masquebar Snowman and Polar Bear sheet mask: the last two masks from a holiday set I bought myself at Target last winter. They feel hydrating and are always fun/creepy to use!
That wraps up my May empties! In June, I’ll be emptying some minis while on vacation. There are a couple of other products waiting for me at home that are nearly empty as well. I hope you’re enjoying the start of your summer!
