Empties + A Blog Milestone

Happy March! I am excited that it feels like winter is finally beginning to lift. It’s been pretty cold here for awhile, and I cannot wait to not wear a heavy coat every time I set foot outside.

Also, happy TENTH blogaversary to me! This blog’s tenth anniversary was actually on February 17, but I didn’t feel like I had much to say in the moment. So I didn’t bother writing a dedicated post about it. Blogging is a hobby for me, and if I don’t feel like writing, I don’t write. But I can’t allow such a milestone to pass without acknowledgement! Ten years of blogging is absolutely something to celebrate; most people who start blogs (or influencer accounts, or podcasts) don’t keep them going for this long. So I’m going to give myself a pat on the back for still being here, even though I don’t post super often. Good job, me!

Let’s move on to my February beauty empties!

February 2025 beauty empties

Would I Repurchase?
  • Benefit Precisely, My Brow Pencil [affiliate link]: I don’t often empty makeup products, so it felt really satisfying to finish this brow pencil. I liked it and would repurchase, though I have a different brand in my vanity that I’ll try next.
  • Trader Joe’s Rose Gold Facial Oil mini: from the 2024 12 Days of Beauty Box. This tiny bottle lasted me quite some time with daily morning use. This rose-scented oil left my skin looking luminous and feeling hydrated. However, the finish was almost too shimmery for my taste, so if TJ’s released this product full sized it’s not something I’d buy. But the mini was fun to try out.
  • Salt & Stone Santal & Vetiver Deodorant Mini: from the set [affiliate link] that I bought during the Sephora 2024 Rouge savings event. This is a declutter. I emptied the Black Rose & Oud scent last month and moved on to this scent. I mentioned that I had a pimple or some kind of irritated spot in my pit while using the deodorant, which persisted with the new scent. In an effort to rule out this product, I started using something else, and the spot began to clear up. When I returned to this deodorant, the irritation came back. I’m not sure what’s causing it, but I am through with using these deodorants because the formula doesn’t seem to jive with my skin. It’s unfortunate, because the scents are really nice!
  • Nutrafol Hair Serum [affiliate link]: this helps a bit with fallout. Would purchase again.
  • Paula’s Choice 10% Azelaic Acid [gifted; affiliate link]: I didn’t really see any benefit in my skin while using this booster. It didn’t irritate my skin, but I wouldn’t buy it on my own.
  • Brooklyn Candle Studio Bergamot Neroli Soap: A really lovely soap scent! The big square shape isn’t the easiest to use, so I probably wouldn’t repurchase for that reason. But it did smell so good.
  • Lion Pose Unspotted 4x Dark Spot + Hyperpigmentation AHA Serum [gifted; affiliate link]: I didn’t notice much difference in my skin while using this product about every other night. I really appreciated the opportunity to try this brand, but this particular product didn’t do much for me. I’d still be interested in trying their other products, though.
  • Nécessaire The Body Peel [gifted; affiliate link]: This peel didn’t irritate my skin, but it’s another product that I didn’t really see any benefit from. And I didn’t love the sticky finish. This product just isn’t really for me.
  • Cutex Strength-Shield Nail Polish Remover: A pretty standard nail polish remover that gets the job done. Would repurchase.
  • Nécessaire The Body Lotion Olibanum [gifted; affiliate link]: I wasn’t able to get anywhere close to emptying this large pump bottle of lotion before it started to smell off…kind of like Play-Doh. I liked the scent when I first opened it and was surprised that it went off so quickly. To be fair, I didn’t open the lotion right away when I received it from the brand. So it’s possible it’s partly my doing. I do like their body lotion in general, though!
  • Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 [affiliate link]: have gone through many a bottle and already opened my next one.
Masking

  • Boscia Fruit Acid Smoothing Foot Peel: RIP Boscia. I bought 4 packs of these when the brand held its going-out-of-business sale. I do love a foot peel and this one is pretty good.
  • Rare Beauty Find Comfort Hydrating Under Eye Patches [affiliate link]: As you can tell, I’ve really been enjoying these. They feel so soothing! Would totally repurchase.

Thank you for ten years of reading my blog! There are maybe one or two of you out there (LOL). I do still enjoy blogging now and then, so I appreciate it any time someone decides to check out what I have to say!
