Two years ago I started doing 31 Days of Horror challenge in which I watched one horror movie every day in October. I had so much fun with it that I’m going to do it a third year in a row!

Basically me for the month of October.

What to watch this year? For starters, I haven’t seen the It remake yet so that’s a must-watch, as is The Houses October Built 2—which is being released tomorrow! I watch Trick ‘r Treat every year (my favorite Halloween movie!) and would like to watch Get Out and The Cabin in the Woods again if I can find them on a streaming service. The Conjuring 2 is on HBO Now so I’ll probably throw that in the mix. I really need to watch Basket Case again and still haven’t seen the sequel, so if I can I’d like to watch those too! I have a bunch of Jaws and Nightmare on Elm Street movies in my queues, so I’m sure I’ll get around to those as well as some B-horror films on my Amazon Prime watchlist.

So that’s my super nebulous plan. I’ll pretty much just make a game time decision each day based on my mood!

I watched The Green Inferno last week; I would have saved it for October but it’s leaving HBO Now at the end of this month so it was kind of a now-or-never thing. I didn’t expect much from it and it was fairly predictable, but I liked it nonetheless.*

If you’re interested, you can check out the lists of the horror movies I watched in 2015 and 2016. The horror Reddit (“Dreddit”) has some 31 Days of Horror threads popping up and I’m sure there will be more as we reach October. Those threads will be quite helpful on those days when I just don’t know what to watch.

Are you doing 31 Days of Horror? If so, what are some of the movies you’re planning to watch?

Happy horror season!

*There was a scene in which I just KNEW there was a tarantula coming up soon, and I still didn’t look away quickly enough. There needs to be a website where you can look up a movie to see if there are spiders in it and then it will tell you when they appear so you know when to avert your eyes. I bet this actually exists, but I’m afraid to google it because I can’t handle ANY spider images, period!!
