Spooky Season Empties
Happy November! Of course I’m bummed that my favorite month is now over, but it looks and feels like fall in DC so I’m soaking up the season. I emptied quite a few products in October, so let’s get right to them.
Would I Repurchase?
- Tatcha The Water Cream [affiliate link]: I love this light, absorbent cream as a morning moisturizer. I’ve purchased it before and would buy it again. Bonus: it’s now refillable, so I’m hanging on to this jar.
- Lush Magic Crystals: love. I’ve gone through a few tubs of this minty, refreshing purple scrub and will keep buying it!
- EltaMD UV Clear SPF 46 [affiliate link]: this has been a go-to facial sunscreen in the past, and I would happily repurchase.
- Caudalie Beauty Elixir [affiliate link]: this facial mist feels so refreshing, especially in the summertime. Will repurchase.
- Prose Custom Shampoo: love the botanica scent. I’m on the last bottle in my stash and have canceled my subscription, but I’d potentially resubscribe.
- Trader Joe’s Moisturizing Cream Shave: this is a good shaving cream and I’ve already bought another tube.
- Lume Whole Body Deodorant Invisible Cream, Lavender Sage: I like this scent and the cream formula. See below for a declutter of a different product from this brand…spoiler alert, I’ve repurchased this one.
- Youth to the People 15% Vitamin C + Caffeine Energy Serum [affiliate link]: this brand has gifted me products, but I bought this on my own. My fave vitamin C serum! Will repurchase again.
- Lawless Forget the Filler Lip Plumping Line Smoothing Gloss, Nudie [affiliate link]: I love this gloss! I have minis from a holiday set I bought last year to get through, but I’d repurchase this full sized.
- Blue Lagoon Skincare Silica Mud Mask, 2.6 oz [affiliate link]: LOVE. I have an as-yet-unopened tube from our Iceland vacation, so I’m good to go for the time being. This brand has since sent me a serum, but I bought their masks in Iceland months prior to receiving that gift.
- Blue Lagoon Skincare Algae Mask, 1.0 oz [affiliate link]: really nice and calming; would consider repurchasing.
- Blue Lagoon Skincare Lava Scrub Mask, 1.0 oz [affiliate link]: a lovely scrub. I don’t use physical exfoliants on my face often but if I decided I needed another one, this would be it.
Single Use + Declutters
- Fantasy by Masquebar Skeleton Nourishing Sheet Mask: these never look quite the way they do on the package, but they’re so fun and feel soothing. I have a couple other Halloween themed ones to use up as well. Would buy again.
- Lume Whole Body Deodorant Smooth Solid, Unscented: I wanted to try an unscented deodorant from this brand. It sat in my vanity for a couple months before I got to it…and when I did, it smelled horrendous. Super sour. I could smell it on myself and hated it so much that I re-showered to wash it off. Then I promptly ordered the lavender sage invisible cream mentioned above. It’s possible that I waited too long to use this deodorant, but it was sealed so it should have been fine. I think it’s just that scents are there for a reason: to cover up what a product smells like without fragrance. No thank you, never again.
- Cosrx Advanced Snail Mucin Power Sheet Mask [affiliate link]: I bought two of these at a Target Ulta; I suspect I may have gotten a pimple after using this one but I’m not sure. Will see if it happens again after I use the other mask.
- Trader Joe’s Peaches & Cream Moisturizing Lip Balm: a forced declutter. I twisted the bottom of the balm up to see how much product was left, and the balm fell out of its container onto the floor. I don’t do the five second rule (especially not with two cats walking around with litterbox paws), so in the trash this one goes.
- Dr. Jart+ Soothing Hydra Solution Balance & Strengthen Mask [affiliate link]: I almost always enjoy this brand’s masks and will continue to buy them.
- Bioeffect Imprinting Eye Mask [affiliate link]: also from our Iceland vacation. Would repurchase.
- Rare Beauty Find Comfort Hydrating Under Eye Patches [affiliate link]: love, would repurchase.
- Grace & Stella Energizing Eye Masks [affiliate link]: from a multi-pack at Costco. I’ve only tried this version so far (the pack came with three versions), but I liked it.
- Dr. Dennis Gross Universal Daily Peel Pads x4 [affiliate link]: I’m still enjoying these and would repurchase. They’re expensive but a good thing to buy during the fall 2025 Sephora savings event!
