A couple Fridays ago I talked about Sephora’s rare 15% off VIB sale in which I ordered a few beauty goodies for myself. Well, it took awhile for me to receive said goodies because my package supposedly got delivered by UPS on April 17th. However, I never got that shipment so I had to ask Sephora had to re-send it.*

Needless to say, I was verrrry excited to FINALLY get my order the other day! Want to see what I got?

IMG_4804My Sephora VIB sale haul included the following:

All in all, I saved $13.05 on these items! Not too shabby.

I’d been eyeing that Bite Butter Cream lipstick ever since it came out (the name itself practically sells itself), and I was so excited to finally get one for myself. Bite’s packaging is gorgeous:

IMG_4805This hand-cut lipstick is touted as being “impossibly creamy,” and I must say I completely agree. Pecan is described as a warm dusty pink shade, and it is pretty much my personal perfect “my lips but better” color:

IMG_4865Side note: the above pic is most definitely NOT a #wokeuplikethis shot. I moisturized with Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer SPF 30, then to even out my skin tone I added Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 in Natural. And I was tired this morning after an active weekend (for me) so I also patted some Neutrogena Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector in Fair under my eyes.

Here’s a messy Pecan Butter Cream Lipstick swatch on my pale, pale arm:**

IMG_4867Amazingly, the creamy texture of this stuff comes through even in photographs. I am in love with this lipstick! Bite is high on my radar for using natural and organic ingredients. The company tagline is “Lip color that’s good enough to eat” but I don’t know if I’d go that far; maybe if I was stranded on a deserted island with only a lipstick in my pocket.  🙂 Bite is not listed in the EWG’s Skin Deep database, but they are trying harder than many other cosmetic brands to use better ingredients in their products.

A couple notes about the other goodies I got during the VIB sale: it was high time that I replaced my Shu Uemura eyelash curler, which I’ve had for god knows how long. I would have bought a new one from Sephora except they inexplicably don’t carry this cult classic (!!) so I got a Shisheido instead. The Shisheido curler has a looser grip so it’s taking time to adjust to using it, but the curling effect it has is solid. I got the tarte sunscreen because I thought it’d be a nice thing to have while traveling. My Kiehl’s moisturizer is good, but it’s a chemical sunscreen as opposed to a physical sunscreen like the tarte (more on the difference between these types of sunscreen another time!) and I’d like to have the option to use either/or. Also, I really liked using the EcoTools konjac sponge that I bought awhile back but I had to toss it because it started getting grimy, so I decided to try out the boscia ones at a discount while I could.

And all of that was just my Sephora haul! Birchbox also sent out a discount code recently, so DUH, I used it. Their offer was $10 off, and I ordered three things:

Apparently I’m really into facial scrubbing lately. My face is gonna be SO BRIGHT that you’ll have to wear shades when you look at me! Oh wait…that already happens because I’m so pale.  😛

So that’s what I’ve splurged on recently. Did you get anything during the Sephora VIB sale? Or did you take advantage of the $10 off code at Birchbox?

*UPS also failed to properly deliver a Banana Republic package that same day…either that or someone came by and swiped both boxes before I discovered they had been delivered to my building. Ugh, UPS: you’re on my shit list right now. #firstworldproblems
