My husband and I don’t usually do much to celebrate the holidays, and we don’t get each other gifts like we do for birthdays. But our families send us gifts, and each year prior to Hanukkah (I was raised Jewish) my mom asks me for a gift list. This time around I took the opportunity to ask for some of the things I had considered buying myself during the Sephora VIB 20% off sale, among other items.

Now that Hanukkah is over and I’ve opened all of my gifts, I figured I might as well share them here! As you’ll see, I leaned heavily into the skin care product arena.

The first gifts to arrive were these two awesome sets from Drunk Elephant: Volume 1: Hot Date and Volume 2: Come C About Me.

I like Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum and have heard great things about the brand’s other products, so I figured these sets would be a great way to get another C-Firma (I just ran out of my first bottle) while trying more DE goodies. Both sets include one full sized product and three deluxe samples. I’ve been using all of these and am really liking them—so much so that I already went ahead and bought myself a full sized Lala Retro Whipped Cream.

The B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel is the one sample that doesn’t quite work for me—it’s not hydrating enough for my skin in these dry winter months, even when mixed with a bit of the Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil. However, it might be enough hydration for me in the spring and summer.

I was super excited that my mom found this next item from my list: Sephora Collection Holy Sheet! I had seen this epic sheet mask set on Sephora.com briefly before the VIB sale, but by the time the sale went live the set was nowhere to be found. I didn’t see it in my local Sephora, either. But I put it on my list anyway and I guess my mom managed to find it in a store. This set contains an array of masks and wipes for the whole body, so my masking game just got even stronger. **Rubs hands together** This is going to be SO MUCH FUN!

Here are the Holy Sheet! set products all laid out:

I also decided to ask for the Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Skin Clay Mask after trying a sample. Ask and you shall receive!

My gingerbread house is still standing in the background!

I got interested in jade rollers after seeing some chatter about them online, so I requested a Ginger Chi Anti Aging Jade Mini Roller. Jade rollers can supposedly reduce puffiness, refine pores, relieve tension, help eliminate toxins, and more. I haven’t been using it for long enough to tell if it’s having any effect on my skin, but it sure feels nice to roll this cool stone over my face after applying my serum and cream in the morning.

I had also been interested in new eye brushes, so I asked for this Luxie Rose Gold Basic Eye Brush Set, which includes six brushes for shading, lining, and blending. They’re quite soft and they’re cruelty free, which is a huge bonus! I haven’t used them a ton just yet, but I’m looking forward to playing around with them some more. And they look so pretty sitting in a jar on the bathroom counter.

Even though I make my own candles, I love supporting Brooklyn Candle Studio, where I originally learned how to make candles. So I asked for this “pick 2” box and chose the Christmas Tree and Pumpkin Harvest scents, which are both so lovely. I started burning the Christmas Tree scent on Christmas to make up for the fact that we don’t have an actual tree in our apartment.

Speaking of pumpkin, my mom also sent me a surprise gift: a jar of pumpkin spice creamed honey made by SeedGeeks in St. Louis. This stuff is delicious! So far I’ve stirred it into tea, and I may have also eaten a spoonful of it on its own.  😛

No gift list of mine would be complete without books, so my mom also got me the following:

And my brother-in-law got me Murder As A Fine Art by David Morrell, because everyone knows I love murder. I mean like…reading books and watching shows and listening to podcasts about it…not doing it.  😀

I thiiiiiink that’s it. I hope I haven’t left anything out! I’m going to have a great time playing around with all of my goodies and reading my new books!

Did you get any amazing gifts this holiday season? Or did you give any gifts that the recipient went absolutely nuts over?
