Some Great Winter FabiFitFun Goodies!

I’ve been seeing Instagram friends post pics of their winter FabFitFun boxes for a couple weeks now. I’d always scroll past the images because I didn’t want to get spoiled. I was so excited when mine finally showed up last weekend! I couldn’t take photos right away because it was rainy all weekend. But the sun eventually came out again. So here’s my winter box of nine full sized items…with a total value of $346! All for $49.99!

The Lifestyle Items

First is one of the items I selected when FabFitFun opened up box customization to regular members: the Lele Sadoughi Silver Circle Necklace ($49 value). The other options for this item were a jewelry portfolio or an Oribe Dry Shampoo. I absolutely love delicate jewelry, so this picking this necklace was a no-brainer for me. It’ll go with everything, and it’s adjustable length!

Oh, and for the background of all of my shots in this post, I used the Mark & Graham Colorblock Throw ($49 value). It is SO soft and will be a wonderful item to cozy up with this winter! Both color options come with wide stripes in neutral shades that will go with any decor. The only annoying thing is that it’s a hand wash item. To be perfectly honest, I don’t see myself hand washing a blanket…so hopefully it’ll hold up okay during a delicate cycle in the washer.

Another item I selected during customization is the Bearpaw Headband and Pop-Top Glove Duo ($45 value). I chose this duo over a hair treatment mask (hair products….bleh). I love convertible gloves, and I only have hats for winter, so these items seemed like a good choice. The sherpa lining of the headband is super soft and will also be great this season!

I was happy to receive the Way of Will Elevate Essential Oil Set ($31 value). The set contains two oils: eucalyptus, which helps with sore muscles and cold symptoms, and sweet orange, which helps with headaches and stomach cramps. I do love essential oils but thus far have really only used them in cleaning (I have tea tree, lemon, and lavender). I’m looking forward to trying the eucalyptus oil on my feet, which basically hurt all the time, and on my right arm, which is often sore from the repetitive motion at my computer.

The Beauty Items

I was excited to see this Ahava Hydration Cream Mask ($33 value) in my box! There is no stopping this #maskmonster. I did just get a hydrating mask (Summer Fridays Jet Lag) as a holiday gift, but I’ll gladly try this one as well. My skin can really use all the moisture it can get this winter! You can either rinse this mask after three to five minutes or leave it on overnight. This is one of the three items that all subscribers received in their winter box.

Another item I picked during customization is the Sherrie Matthews Acupuncture Jade Stone Roller ($45 value). I selected this over a pair of socks or a Pur eyeshadow palette. I actually bought an Herbivore jade roller during the Sephora summer bonus event, but not long after I bought it, the brand said they had come out with a new and improved version. Apparently there were a lot of complaints about the original roller I bought. So I returned it and then was too lazy to get the new one. This time my laziness actually worked in my favor when I saw the jade roller as a winter box option! This roller feels hefty and rolls smoothly and quietly. I can’t wait to incorporate it into my skin care routine.

I received one item in my box that isn’t listed in the FabFitFun magazine included inside: ThisWorks Evening Detox Cleansing Water ($41 value). My box contained a note saying that some subscribers were receiving a replacement item for a coaster set that they were unable to include. So I assume this is my replacement. And I’m happier about it than I would have been about coasters, to be honest. This is a micellar water that comes in a pump tube. It contains sweet almond oil and aloe vera for purification, along with vitamin B5 and hyaluronic acid for hydration.

The product smells nice but does leave a bit of a residue, likely due to the several oils in the ingredient list. And it’s quite expensive for a micellar water! I also feel like because of all the essential oils in the product, it’s probably not good to use around the eyes. The packaging does say to avoid direct contact with the eyes. It’s not like I was planning to squirt it into my eyes, but I don’t particularly want to use it to remove eye makeup…which is the main reason I use micellar water. Boo.

Every subscriber also received a set of five Blaq Hydrogel Eye Masks ($29 value). I’ve seen these on Instagram and they look really nice. These eye masks contain hyaluronic acid to moisturize and activated charcoal to detox and de-puff. I need to remember to pop a set of these in the fridge before trying them, for extra refreshment.

The third product included in every winter box is the Thrive Causemetics Brilliant Eye Brightener in “Stella” ($24 value), a shimmery champagne shade. I’ve been wanting to try this brand, so I was psyched that FabFitFun sent this product! This stick will be perfect for an inner eye corner highlight. You can also use it to highlight your brow bone or brighten your waterline. And there’s a sharpener embedded in the end. Very handy! One of the best things about this woman-owned brand is that for every product purchased, they donate to a cause that helps women thrive. Plus, the products are vegan and cruelty-free!

Final Thoughts

Overall I’m quite happy with my FabFitFun winter 2018 box. The one product I’m not super thrilled with is the micellar water because I don’t want to use it for eye makeup removal. Otherwise, consider me one very satisfied customer!
