A Wrinkle Cream Gifted by Dr. Brandt
I was super excited when Dr. Brandt sent me another gift last month! I recently reviewed the Neck Sculpting Cream that they sent me, and I was so honored to have the opportunity to try another Dr. Brandt product, the Needles No More® Wrinkle Smoothing Cream. These PR gifts are always a surprise and a delight. Thank you so much, Dr. Brandt!
The cream arrived safely in this very cute packaging:
A Solid Candidate
As with the Neck Sculpting Cream, I’m definitely in the demographic for the Wrinkle Smoothing Cream. I turn 41 in eight days (but who’s counting?), and though I wouldn’t say I have a dire wrinkle situation, I do have expression lines going across my forehead, as well as a vertical line between my brows. I’ve never considered getting Botox…I like having the ability to let my facial expressions fly free! 😛 While dark spots are my main concern right now, I’m totally still up for trying a wrinkle cream.
The Cream Details
According to DrBrandtskincare.com, this Wrinkle Smoothing Cream is a “breakthrough formula that lets you keep the expression but lose the lines. Formulated with a revolutionary tri-blend wrinkle-smoothing complex, this cream visibly smooths expression lines instantly* and over time for skin that’s naturally fabulous, never frozen.” So basically, Botox in a bottle, minus the frozen face for which the injection is famous. And it claims to “help defend against the look of future lines and wrinkles.”
Key ingredients, per the brand’s website:
- Neuropeptides: deliver skin relaxing ingredients where they are most needed
- Magnesium and Adenosine: help soften and reduce the appearance of expression lines and wrinkles over time
This wrinkle cream costs $89 for a 0.5 oz bottle. So it’s pricey, but a little goes a long way. I’d call the texture a pretty standard cream. You’re supposed to pat a small amount onto areas of concern and then smooth it into the creases. I’m not very precious with product application so I kind of just slather things on. I’ve been trying to follow the application directions for this cream, but a lot of the time I’m too lazy to pat and then smooth, so I just rub it into my forehead.
The cream doesn’t contain fragrance, but I do get a hint of a mint scent and a cooling sensation on my skin. That’s because the ingredients list includes menthone glycerin acetal, which I just learned is a menthol derivative (thanks, Google!). The cream also contains lavender flower extract, but that’s the last ingredient and I haven’t noticed any lavender aroma.
In terms of frequency, I’ve added the cream to both my morning and nighttime skin care routines. So I’ve been applying it twice daily since early May (just over a month, as of this writing).
Before // After
Time for photo evidence! I struggled to get photos that didn’t have a shiny reflection off of my forehead, so it’s a little hard to see the expression lines here—especially the one between my brows. I guess it’s a good thing if you have to look closely to see the lines (they’re more obvious in person). And as always, the lighting is not the same in the before and after photos, so also keep that in mind.
Here’s the first before photo, taken May 2.
And here’s the after photo, taken on June 2 (one month of twice daily usage):

Another angle of the before:
And another look at the after:

I know the photos aren’t great, but I do think my forehead lines have smoothed out some! The horizontal lines more so than the smaller vertical line between my brows (which, again, is hard to see here). When I look at my forehead in person the lines still look the same to me, but it’s always hard to notice a difference in something you see daily. Like how it’s hard to notice when a friend you see all the time loses weight, but if someone you don’t see often loses weight you notice it instantly.
So! I’m pleased with the results thus far. I’m going to continue using the cream twice a day until I run out. Because of the packaging I can’t tell how much is left in the bottle…we’ll see how long it lasts.
Overall Impressions
I do think this cream appears to be subtly effective after one month of use. As with a lot of skin care, it’s probably most effective when used consistently (which I’ve been good about). I’m looking forward to seeing if my wrinkles smooth out more with continued use! I’m also curious about the claim of helping to prevent future wrinkles; I imagine you’d need to use the cream long term to prevent new wrinkles from popping up.
I can’t say yet whether I’d buy this cream on my own. For now, I don’t think the results are dramatic enough to warrant spending $89 on the cream, but if it does keep smoothing my lines even more, I would consider purchasing it.
Thank you again to Dr. Brandt for the opportunity to try this cream!
*With the caveat that individual results may vary.
**The brand gifted me the products in this post for consideration.**
